The Must Have Mens Style
You may have noticed the new trend rocking the world of men’s hair styles.
But…is it really new? It’s called the Pompadour and it dates back to the 1700’s. Madame de Pompadour was the mistress of King Louis XV. She made this look fashionable for women right up until the first world war. You may however remember another certain gentleman know fondly as The King in the 50’s who had woman swooning and falling at his feet who rocked this style better than anyone else at the time.
This now classic style can be worn by kids, young men or older men of any profession. It is classic but edgy.
The style is created by keeping the sides shorter and the top long, depending on how dramatic you want the look to be. You will need to style your hair by using a good wax or pomade or cream. American Crew have designed an amazing range to help you achieve the look. Add shine or keep it matt, its up to you.
After towel drying your hair use a small round brush and with the blow dryer dry the top longer area sweeping the brush towards the back. Using a round brush will help give it volume and height if desired. Now choose your favourite styling product starting with small amounts on the tip of your fingers and work the styling product through the hair. Add more if needed but keep it minimal so as to not make it too heavy or flat. Finish off with a little hair spray and you will be set for whatever the day or night brings.
When you visit The Edge in Hair ask Leigh or Sargis to create the look for you. The boys will be happy to give you some tips and advise you on how to style it at home.
